Weatherization

The Weatherization Program is designed to lower the energy burden of low-income households by making the home more energy efficient. Generally the home is made more energy efficient by sealing air leaks and adding insulation.  Household repairs, such as roof replacement and other major repairs, are not allowed under the Weatherization Program.

To qualify for Weatherization the total household income must be at 200% of Federal Poverty Level or below and the client must own or have life rights to the home. Rental properties may be Weatherized if the renter meets the income standards and the landlord agrees to pay a percentage of the cost of Weatherization.

Emergency Crisis Intervention Program

ECIP provides immediate response to clients who are in a no heat situation. The program is typically available from November 1 through March 15th each year.  The household must meet the regular Weatherization Program requirements to qualify for assistance. The total household income must be at 200% of Federal Poverty Level or below and the client must own or have life rights to the home.
